India to host Exercise Milan 2022:

Naval exercise Milan:

India has invited an aggregate 46 friendly foreign countries to take part in the multinational naval drill Milan in Visakhapatnam. India's neighborhood & Asean member countries like Brunei, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, South Korea, Cambodia and the member countries of the QUAD (Japan, the US and Australia), the member nations of AUKUS (the UK, Australia & the US) too are going to be participating in this drill.

It's schedule:

It scheduled time is from February 25, 2022.

It's Theme:

The theme of this 11th edition of exercise Milan is camaraderie, cohesion and collaboration. 

Freedom of navigation- Thee main focus:

“The focus will also be on safeguarding the sea lanes and these are open for all navies. Both India and likeminded navies are getting together to counter the growing presence of China in the Indian Ocean Region and Indo-Pacific.

History:

This exercise was initiated in 1995 and held biennially and conducted with friendly nations. All editions of Milan had been hosted under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command and were held in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
