International Missing Children’s Day is observed globally on 25th May every year. This day is observed for missing children who have found their way home, remember those that are victims of crime, and continue efforts to seek out those that are still missing. Every year, more countries commemorate International Missing Children’s Day, acknowledging the need for a harmonized response to protect vulnerable children around the world.

About International Missing Children’s Day:
The day was proclaimed in 1983, by U.S. President Ronald Reagan. In 2001, 25 May was the first formally recognized as International Missing Children’s Day (IMCD). In 2001, the tribute spread worldwide. ICMEC coordinates the 'Help Bring Them Home Campaign' in 29 countries, in conjunction with International Missing Children's Day, to spotlight the issue of child abduction around the world, and to suggest to parents some steps they can take to protect their children.
Raise Awareness:
International Missing Children's Day raises awareness for the missing children globally. The National Missing Persons Coordination Centre works with the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children to implement this mission through the Global Missing Children's Network.

The main purpose of International Missing Children's Day is to encourage everyone to think about children who remain missing and to spread a message of hope.
